Irrationality of Speculative Gene Patents
This article eschews the standard arguments premised on demonstrating the negative effects of unbridled strategic patenting. It argues instead that speculative biotech patenting, particularly of genetic probes, putative drug targets, and uncharacterized genetic sequences, is irrational.
