“As SSTI members and past attendees know, we give considerable weight to the local and regional innovation story when selecting our conference sites,” said Dan Berglund, SSTI president and CEO. “The outstanding work of Arizona’s TBED community, the exciting early results from the well-designed economic development strategy of the Gila River Indian Community, and the overall success of Arizona’s innovation economy provide numerous examples of smart TBED practice from which we know regions all across the United States will find elements they want to emulate.”

http://2024.ssticonference.org/">SSTI’s Annual Conference is a unique experience, each year drawing a diverse collection of people from all walks of regional development practice—more than 400 registered from 49 states and multiple countries last year – into a living community to help each participant celebrate and improve their efforts to create a better future through the thoughtful blending of science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Attendees will share ideas and common practices, learn about federal and foundation funding opportunities, gain new insights for regional innovation, and expand their professional networks.

Additionally, in addition to a full slate of activities, breakout workshops, and plenary sessions open to all participants, the three-day event will once again allow subgroups of the TBED community to convene, such as the Build Back Better Regional Challenge winners, the Regional Innovation Engines and Tech Hubs designees, state TBED and Innovation directors, and CEOS of the nation’s nonprofit, publicly backed venture development organizations.

“The SSTI team is particularly looking forward to the personal and professional development possibilities for this year’s conference,” SSTI’s Executive Vice President, Mark Skinner said, “The https://2024.ssticonference.org/" style="color:blue; text-decoration:underline">2024 conference presents a tremendous opportunity for SSTI conference attendees and the TBED field. “Moving the conference close to the end of the year in 2024 also will allow the dust from the November elections to settle,” Berglund added. “Everyone can then shift our collective focus forward toward a positive future—which is what TBED and SSTI are all about.”
